Clara Marie Gentry, 59

Clara Marie Gentry, 59, of Medaryville, IN (formerly of Merrillville, IN) went home to be with the Lord at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 19, 2020.  She passed away peacefully at Franciscan Health Hospital East in Lafayette, IN with her husband by her side.  Clara was born on October 14, 1960 in Hammond, IN to the late George F. and Mary L. Spanier Lair.  She grew up in Hammond where she met her husband, Michael G. Gentry.  On January 9, 1978, Clara married Michael in Cedar Lake, IN.

Clara worked at Calumet Auto Recyclers in Hammond for many years before becoming the manager at Family Express in Medaryville.  In 2007, she went to work for Metro Auto Recyclers in Valparaiso, IN.

Clara was a member of the Ladies of Harley Kankakee Valley Chapter in North Judson, IN.  She enjoyed the many bike trips taken with her husband and friends.   She loved fishing, especially with the grandkids at the pond.

Clara had an infectious smile!  She was a kind-hearted woman who was always caring for others.   Most of all, Clara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
